Blog shhhmog. There's nothing special about them. Well, that's how i feel about it. When the idea of having one was put forward to me, my initial thought was that it's a stupid idea. Me? Blog? What's the point?
Having said that, after mulling over it for a while i thought "fuck it, why not?" - i couldn't think of reason why i shouldn't.......and here i am.
I had no idea what blogs were or the purpose of it. It was a learning curve from day one, but it was something i was willing to put some time and effort into for a while just to figure it out and "test the waters" - so to speak.
There are some really cool blogs out there, but there's alot of shit out there too. But hey, who am i to judge? Mine could very well belong in that "Shit pile" to alot of people. Most of us have our own reasons for starting out.
I'm going to let you in on a little secret here and now though.
I'm in this for me, not you.
This is all me. I don't give a shit if one person read what i wrote or a million (ok,so a million would be kind of cool). But that's not why i do this. I don't care about the DOs and DON'Ts of the blogging world. I don't care about the rules. If i want piss poor grammer with super awesome levels of bad language peppered around a blog post for good measure. I'll write it accordingly.
If i want to make fun of your favourite rapper, dj, tv show or pair of skinny jeans, i'm going too. Plain and simple.
If i want to clown your Movember moustache, i will. I've seen a few crazy mo's and i know a few of my friends take up the fight for the month of November. It's all for a good cause and a fun way to promote awareness but some of you still look like Borats offspring.
It's not all fun and games though. I do like to write about things i've thought about in the past. Things i've been through in life as well as bits and pieces about my own personal interests etc.
I don't try to pass myself off as a writer. The reality is i'm not. The blog is there when i want it to be and does what i make it do. If i have nothing to write about, i don't. I never want to force myself to do something that isn't going to happen. If i really cared, i'd be here everyday doing my thing but i'm not. I'm pretty sure i'll have those hot and cold moments, but i'm cool with that.
If anything, i just enjoy having the outlet available to me at any given time. And that's pretty much how i use it. It allows me to expand on things that Twitter won't let me do in 140 characters and seems like the logical and acceptable alternative to posting "extensive" book like status updates on Facebook.
I'm glad i was pointed in this direction and completely happy and willing to do things at my own pace for my own reasons. If you've thought about doing it, i would recommend it to anyone. It's an interesting avenue with limitless potential and an endless array of possibilities. It's up to you at the end of the day. My take on things was always going to be about,
Life Through The Eyes Of A Scratchnut.

I saw this a little while ago now and i found it a really cool insight into how they get down as a crew, from the early days and how they all met and got together,to the things they do as individuals now.
Each and every one of them is an absolute BEAST on the 1's & 2's in their own right and the influence they've had (and will continue to have) on the DJ community is second to none. I mean,shit... i know i was influenced!
